This guide was co-designed through a community research project in collaboration with a community researcher, Justlife, women with lived experience, academics, and local service providers. Participants shared that it was often difficult to know what help was available, and having all the information in one accessible place would make a real difference.
The guide is structured to support every stage of the journey: from urgent support services at the point of homelessness, through to practical and independent community and well-being support once settled.
Inside, you’ll find a comprehensive directory of services across Brighton & Hove, from 24-hour helplines and mental health support to practical assistance such as food, furniture, and financial help. Beyond these essentials, it also highlights creative, community, and holistic services.
What makes this guide unique is its human-centred approach. It features the voices of participants and explains why specific services were included, offering insight into real experiences and needs in the community.
