Hours: 37.5 hrs per week

Normal hrs to be worked: Monday – Friday, 9am to 5pm

Salary: £28,938

We have an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader to join Justlife in Brighton & Hove.  We are looking for someone with experience of supporting vulnerable adults and of managing a small team, who fits our values of collaboration, people and innovation.

Overview – Justlife Brighton

Justlife provide holistic, responsive and flexible support to people with the aim of helping their experience of housing vulnerability be as short, safe and healthy as possible. This includes engagement work helping clients improve and maintain their health, by accessing primary care, attending appointments and linking with relevant services, as well as a weekly activities programme and support specifically for those in emergency accommodation. Justlife also engages in research into the effects of unsupported temporary accommodation, which informs our work locally, as well as enabling us to have conversations on a wider scale to bring about positive change. The project funders include the Brighton & Hove Clinical Commissioning Group, The BIG Lottery Fund and other grant funders.

The role will include;

  • Providing leadership to the Engagement Work team
  • Assisting the Operations Manager in managing the service, ensuring a high quality, monitored and constantly improving service
  • Contributing to the development of the Justlife service locally as well as potential areas of system change that benefit those we work with
  • Carrying a small case load and participate in service delivery activities

Advocacy and Client Discharge Coordinator – this post has now closed

Location: Royal Sussex County Hospital

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hrs per week

Normal hrs to be worked: 37.5 hrs per week, Monday – Friday, 9am to 5pm and will include some weekend work (monthly)

Salary: £25,681

We have an exciting opportunity for an Advocacy & Client Discharge Coordinator to join Justlife in Brighton & Hove, working as part of the Homeless Pathway team at the Royal Sussex County Hospital. We are looking for someone with experience of supporting people who are homeless, with really good communication and advocacy skills and able to work within a high pressured and rapidly changing medical environment.  The successful candidate will need to be self-motivated and able to work independently.

Overview – Justlife Brighton

Justlife provide holistic, responsive and flexible support to people with the aim of helping their experience of housing vulnerability be as short, safe and healthy as possible. This includes a multi-disciplinary team based at the Royal Sussex County Hospital providing in-reach support to homeless people in hospital and plan for their safe discharge alongside staff from Arch Healthcare and Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust.

Justlife also provide engagement work helping clients improve and maintain their health, by accessing primary care, attending appointments and linking with relevant services, as well as a weekly activities programme and support specifically for those in emergency accommodation. We also engage in research into the effects of unsupported temporary accommodation, which informs our work locally, as well as enabling us to have conversations on a wider scale to bring about positive change. The project funders include the Brighton & Hove Clinical Commissioning Group, The BIG Lottery Fund and other grant funders.

The role will include;

  • Providing housing advice and advocacy for homeless people staying in hospital or visiting A&E
  • Liaising with the local authority housing team, supported accommodation providers and other support agencies
  • Assisting colleagues in coordinating the service, ensuring it is high quality, monitored and constantly improving
  • Contributing to the development of the Justlife service locally
  • Coordinating and supporting Engagement Workers covering weekend shifts
