I find these events invaluable for keeping up to date with services and priorities in the city – Thanks for hosting and keep up the good work!”

Since September 2023, the Networks Team has been hard at work maintaining networks and forums that address key concerns in the Brighton & Hove homelessness sector, and across the wider East and West Sussex area – find out more about our workers here.
The Networks Team has recently released an Impact Report, detailing the real change we've orchestrated and overseen among frontline workers. Identifying key impacts, rather than just outcomes has added credence and weight to our work.
We'd love to join you at an upcoming event. Email kate@justlife.org.uk for more information.
Our Frontline Network gives workers in the homelessness sector a space to work through the key issues affecting them and the people they support and a way to connect with the wider community of organisations tackling homelessness. The Brighton & Hove frontline network is part of a national network organised by St. Martin in the Fields.
The Network creates points of connection for workers across the city of Brighton & Hove through its Monthly E-Newsletter and hosting in-person events where workers can learn, share ideas and discuss a range of topics. In addition to topic areas identified by workers, the Network is focusing on the following themes:
We host regular "Learning Lunches" at the Justlife Hub to give workers a chance to take a break, share a meal, and connect in a supportive environment. More info on these in the sidebar.
Contact jules@justlife.org.uk if you would like to find out more or get involved.
Funded by Changing Futures Sussex, and coordinated by Justlife, these networks unite practitioners in East and West Sussex across a range of disciplines – focusing on homelessness, current or historical offending, substance misuse, domestic abuse, and mental ill health.
Sign up for the monthly newsletter, or visit our website to receive vital resources, news and updates, podcasts, video content, regular Zoom hangout spaces, reflective learning opportunities and, most importantly, invitations to in-person and digital events across East and West Sussex.
The network has also created Justlife's first-ever podcast, covering topics such as lived experience involvement, co-production and health engagement.
The Brighton & Hove Homelessness Research Forum brings together academic, third-sector and community researchers (including peer researchers) from across the city to exchange ideas, develop joint projects and bring about research-led change, improving the lives of people experiencing homelessness.
Contact kate@justlife.org.uk for further information or to be added to the email list.
The HRSN is made up of leaders from within the voluntary, community & social enterprise (VCSE) sector who commit to working towards ending and preventing homelessness in Brighton and Hove through collaboration, within the sector and with statutory partners and wider stakeholders. Currently 25 organisations are signed up as members of the HRSN and meet at least every three months.
The network is open to all Voluntary, Community & Social Enterprise organisations in Brighton & Hove working with people who are experiencing homelessness. If you are interested in joining on behalf of your organisation, please contact kate@justlife.org.uk.
Better sector partnerships between workers to drive improved and more joined-up support for people experiencing homelessness in the city.
Upskilling the sector with skills and knowledge to enable a flexible approach to delivering services to those with multiple and complex needs.
Exploring frontline worker led approaches to homelessness.
Enabling frontline workers to have a voice and input into strategic decisions being made by the local authority.
Supporting the wellbeing of frontline workers while they face the challenges of today’s support and accommodation environment.
I have found largely that what is working well is human relationships. We are working within systems that are not clear and difficult to use. It is the power of human relationships that enables us to work collaboratively with our clients.
