Community Works, Justlife and YMCA DownsLink Group are researching the impact of the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) support provided to people who are experiencing homelessness and rough sleeping in Brighton and Hove.

There are lots of amazing groups and charities out there providing vital support to many people who need it, however currently there is a lack of cohesive understanding of what is being offered by the VCS and the overall impact of this work.

Project aims

This survey aims to build a clear picture of the contribution that the VCS makes to supporting people who experience homelessness in Brighton and Hove.

Through the research we want to improve outcomes for people experiencing homelessness and rough sleeping by:

  • Improving understanding of the significant contribution of the VCS

  • Providing opportunities for a better system response in Brighton and Hove, including:
    a) improving partnership conversations funding opportunities
    b) support that is offered to groups and organisations

The questionnaire consists of questions about your organisational structure, funding and teams, what your support remit is and questions about outcomes and impact. For important tips for filling in see the survey introduction.

Whether you are a large charity working with numerous individuals, assisting with housing or health, or a small community group providing emergency meals or campaigning we want to hear from all groups working in homelessness.
