The Justlife Health and Enterprise Centre, based in East Manchester, has been open one year. The actual birthday was 4th March, but with the constant busyness at the centre we forgot to take a moment to celebrate! It has been a fantastic year at Justlife helping people make steps forward with housing, healthcare and employment. We have really embedded our services into the community and are well trusted and respected by our service users. To see more about what we have been doing at Justlife, click here to read the latest annual report. This birthday coincides with the start of Ruth Cox, the new centre manager, this week. Prior to Justlife, she worked for the charity ‘Oasis’ for more than 20 years, establishing a vocational training project and subsequent tailoring business in Mumbai, India for vulnerable young women. Subsequently Ruth set up an import/sales operation in Manchester for what became known as the Jacobs Well business in the UK. Ruth’s passion is to see people flourish, receiving the support, advice and ‘tools’ (job skills/training etc) that they need in order to become independent whilst also deeply connected to their local communities. We are really excited about Ruth joining the Justlife team and look forward to working with her.We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the volunteers and staff who have worked with us in the past year, all of whom have contributed to growing and shaping Justlife.
