One Step Closer: Hanover Homeless Project Fundraiser!
With the support of Greg Headley at The Passage, some residents in Hanover have come together to form One Step Closer, a campaign to help the homeless in the city. On Saturday 5th May they held a launch event at St Luke’s Church with a raffle and serving lovely tea and cakes, raising more than £1,700.
The group are looking to support Justlife’s Move-In Starter Packs – helping replenish supplies for these packs, once ones from the initial pilot have all been handed out.
Kate, who coordinates the Move-In Packs at Justlife, attended the event – bringing an example of one of the packs they provide to those in need moving into emergency or temporary accommodation. ‘It was amazing to see so many people in the community come together for this event. Being able to provide some basic, but carefully chosen, practical items can really make a difference to people during a time of crisis. Thank you to Bev and the team who put this event together – both raising awareness of one of the issues around homelessness and funds to help address it.’
