First Photo Walk of the Summer

Today saw Brighton’s first photo walk of the Summer. It was suggested by Steve, a service user, who wanted to take us somewhere that he did not think anyone had been to before. We ended up in Withdean park, which no one on the group had been to, and it was a perfect bright and sunny day for it. Neil told us that Withdean park used to be the second largest lilac collection in the world after New York, until the storm of 1987 decimated it. Some of the lilac collection has been slowly returning to life as can be seen in some of the pictures that were taken.
We wandered about the trees and woods, through some of the meadows, and down to the ponds where we saw mating dragonflies, Jackdaws, Magpies and squirrels, all of which were just a little too quick for our photography. Nonetheless, some fantastic photos were taken, and some of the adjectives used to describe both the day and our state of mind, were 'Peaceful, Tranquil, and Idyllic.' All in all, a great start to what will hopefully become a staple Summer diet of good company, good environment, and good creative expression.
