This week a group from Justlife Brighton took a trip to London for a very special event; artwork, produced by a Justlife service user is on display at the Royal Festival Hall - Koestler exhibition at the 'Spirit Level'.The Koestler exhibition is an exhibition of art created by prisoners, or those in secure hospitals, or in immigration detention centres. Stephen, whilst he was in Lewes Prison, created the vase that you see in the picture attached, and it was accepted to this very prestigious exhibition. The art won him a mentor scholarship which will allow him to continue his artwork, going to art college, and support him in his artistic endeavours.Stephen regularly attends Justlife and we have supported him since his release from prison.Following the visit to the exhibition the group took a trip up the Thames to We then went to the Tate modern and saw the Rothko room, which Stephen had wanted to see. After the emotion of seeing art by prisoners and people previously labelled as bad people, but now labelled artists, there was no better place for contemplation. The Koestler exhibition, is on display until 29th November 2015.
