Yesterday saw 7 Justlifers running the
Manchester 5k Colour Run, getting splattered with paint and smiling all the way round the race.
If you didn't already know, Justlife Manchester has started a running club with our homeless and vulnerably housed service users. It was their idea and the running club is called "Cool Runnings". Emma, Andrew, Jacqui, Rose and Amanda have spent the past 10 weeks training hard for the race with staff members Alex and Christa.We were delighted that the team stuck together, running through the coloured paint sections together and encouraging each other to keep going. Yesterday's stirling performance has motivated the team to enter future races and other Justlife service users are keen to join in too!The aim of the running club is to get fit and have fun... but our service users wanted to take this to the next level and use the opportunity to fundraise for Justlife. Thanks to the generosity of other service users, friends, local businesses and Justlife supporters. We have raised over £500 and the money is still coming in!All of their lives have been positively impacted by the support of Justlife and they have preparing to run this race and raise money for Justlife... so more people who are experiencing similar difficulties to them can be helped.
