Naomi has been on placement at Justlife from her social work degree since October 2015. Since starting not only has her life and experience changed, but her work has impacted the lives of our service users.Naomi has helped in the drop in, supported workshops and worked closely with individuals on a one-to-one basis, developing key work skills.Philip (pictured above with Naomi) said, “I’ve never had this level of support of help from anyone since I had my accident, I’ve always just struggled, buts she’s been there for me and it’s all thanks to her.”Before Naomi started working with Philip he was drinking everyday and hospitalised because of an overdose. After returning to a local B&B from hospital Philip found himself in need of much support ad turned to Justlife. Since arriving in autumn 2014 he has completed an IT course, something he never thought he could achieve and has been working closely with Naomi to address alcohol and other issues.Naomi said: "My experience at Justlife has been impeccable as I never anticipated to learn and develop as much as I have. The staff have provided me with numerous opportunities and are extremely inspirational and supportive. However, not only have the staff contributed to my development as a social work student, so have the service users. The service users have taught me a lot during my time at Justlife and I am excited to continue to volunteer over the summer period."We are delighted that Naomi is sticking with Justlife beyond the end of her placement as a volunteer over the next few months. She will continue to be a brilliant asset to the Justlife team. Justlife will continue to support this Philip after Naomi has finished at Justlife, helping him to make steps forward in life.
