Last week Justlife gathered staff for a two day conference, the first of its kind since Justlife began. The event included an opportunity to share vision, ideas and information about the future, discuss challenges, learn new skills and get to know each other better. On the first day the staff were joined by Dan Jones, Finance Director and Gretta Starks, Company Secretary, who provided insight into the finances and bigger picture for Justlife, alongside Gary Bishop, CEO. We also spent time looking at how we work with homeless and vulnerably housed people by asking: "What is enough to change a story?"The evening gathered all staff and directors for a celebratory meal. Prior to the meal each project shared about future hopes and plans. In addition, Alex spoke about the insights gained through the Just Thinking research project and how this work fits into the bigger picture of Justlife. On the second day the full team completed training on using the 'Outcome Star'. This will enable us to record client progress in a helpful and meaningful way for both them and us, for progression and journeying a well as monitoring and reporting.Gary Bishop, CEO, said: "I wanted to gather the whole team together because it is a great opportunity to express our gratitude to every single person who works in the organisation and to talk about vision for the future. It really was a significant and memorable time, in some ways it felt like the start of something. The DWF venue made such a difference, I think everyone felt valued and appreciated – what better way to start 2014?"
Everyone at Justlife would like to thank DWF, UK business law firm, who gave us use of a training room in their Manchester offices for the duration of the conference. The firm also kindly provided refreshments throughout the day and lunch. It was a pleasure to be in such a high spec environment with excellent facilities.
