BIG-JustLifeUnfortunately, we are reporting some bad news. The Justlife centre, Manchester, was broken into at the weekend. Over £3,500 equipment was stolen from the centre and damage to the building and decoration amounts to a similar amount. The centre has been closed this week, and the team are working hard to organise repairs and prepare for reopening, at a reduced capacity.9 computers were taken, the bulk of which are used at the daily internet cafe and weekly Jobclub. Whilst we are trying to minimise the impact of this break in, in the short term our services will be limited. The internet cafe will not operate, so people will not be able to look for housing or opportunities; the job club will be reduced as people will not be able to apply for jobs online. Advice and Guidance and appointments will decrease in number as we are currently sharing IT equipment. We are thankful that none was hurt, we are thankful for our brilliant Manchester team who are working together to get the show back on the road and we are thankful that we can open again so quickly. You can't steal the passion, experience and hard work that our staff and volunteers put in every day and that is what makes what we do.If you would like to support Justlife in anyway at this time, please do not hesitate to get in touch. We are especially seeking the donation of laptop computers allowing us to resume Jobclub and the internet cafe.
