Last week Justlife Manchester said goodbye to Safiyah and a big hello to Liz. Social work placement student Safiyah has been on placement with the Manchester team for the past four months and we would like to thank her for being such a dedicated and hardworking member of the team.
We are delighted to welcome Liz, a first year MA Social Work student from University of Chester. Liz will be with Justlife for 70 days over the next 4 months.
Liz says: "I am really looking forward to learning about how to work with people living in temporary and B&B accommodation with critical and complex needs. In the short time I have been here I have seen some of the challenges that clients face with such precarious accommodation and lives, and the difficulties in overcoming these challenges. Justlife is really making a difference and I hope that over the next few months I will grow in my understanding of the people I am working with and the situations they are faced with on a daily basis.
"So far, I have enjoyed getting to know everyone within the team and the service users. I have really enjoyed activities that I have been involved in and taking service users on trips. It is brilliant to see people try something new out of their comfort zone and of course have some fun!"
