This week is Poverty and Homelessness Action Week and we are helping our service users to take action too. This afternoon we will be taking a group from the Justlife centre, Openshaw into the centre of Manchester to distribute food to those living on the streets, offering warmth and a chat as well as some nourishment.Waitrose, Spinningfields has generously donated food and drink enabling us to distribute the best to people who have suffered the worst.Service users are excited to be taking part in this activity as many of them have been on the streets themselves and it is an opportunity to give back and help.At the Justlife Centre we focus our work, sessions and activities around a recognised tool “Five Ways to Health and Wellbeing”.One of the "Five Ways" is: Give - do something nice for a friend or stranger as putting your efforts towards a good cause can be incredibly rewarding. This is just one of the ways that we enable our service users to help others. To find out more about Poverty and Homelessness Action Week click here.
