Over the past month the Monday gardening group at Justlife have created an oasis at the back of the centre. The allotments are full of delicious greens to eat, the pond looks healthy, new beds have emerged, the lawn is neat and the pots are filled with flowers.
The activity in the garden has caused quite a stir and passers by often look in and neighbours have been watching the work. In partnership with Debdale Eco Centre and the Kindling Trust, we plan to launch a community hanging basket project in the next month.
We have spoken to several neighbouring houses about the project and invited them to potentially come to Justlife and create a hanging basket for their own home. The project would be funded by the Kindling Trust. Two neighbours have been particularly enthusiastic and are drumming up interest across their street.
