Homeless? That’s Just LifeThis week is Homelessness and Poverty Action Week, but for many people in Manchester homelessness is a way of life. Everyday, Justlife, helps people facing homelessness, poverty and connected issues. Last year Justlife worked with 347 people on 4934 separate occasions. The charity operates a day centre in Openshaw, which is at the heart of a dense population of B&B, temporary and hostel accommodation, with the aim of helping the residents of these establishments move on from cycles of homelessness and address associated problems including addiction, offending, mental and physical health, skills and employability.
Gary Bishop, Managing Director of Justlife said: “Poverty & Homelessness Action Week is a great opportunity for people to focus in on an issue that is with us every day of the year. In fact, our most recent statistics suggest that demand for services like ours is increasing, we expect the numbers of people living in temporary accommodation to increase in the next 12 months as greater numbers of people enter the homeless system.”With a growing demand for Justlife services we are looking for more financial supporters. Can you become a regular donor? Even just £5 per month will make a difference.
