Last week Justlife took a group of 6 women to Manchester Art Gallery for a guided tour of the Raqib Shaw exhibition. Shaw's work is an fantastical, extravagant and unsettling.We discussed dreams and nightmares in an introduction by Kate, from Manchester Art Gallery, and as we toured the exhibition everyone contributed to the discussion about what they felt the art conveyed. We discovered a the dark, unsettling world of Raqib Shaw’s art. Beneath the seductive surface of his jewel-encrusted works, we found a disturbing land inhabited by terrifying monkey warriors and other mythical beasts.Carol said: "The exhibition was incredible, the work was really intricate and I am going to go back with my sister to visit. I have never been to the gallery but really enjoyed the experience."All of the women very much enjoyed the trip and are hoping to visit again in their own time. This is a brilliant outcome for us.Our relationship with Manchester Galleries is growing and in the next couple of months we will be visiting the Gallery of Costume and taking another trip to Manchester Art Gallery
