Yesterday, staff at Justlife took 6 service users to the Imperial War Museum at Salford Quays. The museum documents from the beginning of the 20th century through to present day.Everyone enjoyed learning new things, experiencing the pungent smells of the trenches, looking at wartime vehicles, tanks and watching real footage. For several people the stories and events brought back memories. Paul remembered the infomercials about what to do if there was a nuclear attack in the UK- broadcast on TV in the 1970s, and we all remembered the footage from 9/11.This trip plays a part in our aims to help people learn something new and notice the world around them. It stimulated conversation, sparked new interest and enabled friendships to grow.(Pictured: three Justlife clients cramped into an air raid shelter)
