Garry, service user and volunteer at Justlife put his training into practice and spent time helping another service user. Garry has been coming to Justlife since October and volunteering since the beginning of January. He is a valuable member of the Justlife team and has been serving by washing up and helping keep the centre clean and tidy, but today he took new steps in volunteering. Garry was able to help another service user today fill in JobCentre Plus forms.Over the past 8 weeks Garry has attended weekly volunteering training in which he has learnt about how Justlife works as well as how to work with vulnerable people, communication skills, health and safety and safe guarding.Garry said: "It was such a great opportunity to help another service user solve a problem and put what I have learnt into practice, it has opened new doors to me and given me the confidence that I can help people."We hope that Garry and other service user volunteers will continue to improve their confidence and skills to support others and help Justlife work.
