Last Thursday 6 members of staff from local housing association, Eastlands Homes, spent the day at the Justlife Centre in Manchester. In the morning the team injected energy and enthusiasm into the drop in session with craft and embroidery activities. Everyone got involved and enjoyed learning new skills. This gave Eastlands and opportunity to meet the Justlife service users, begin to get to know them and find out more about what we do.A few also spent the morning shifting compost in the Justlife garden to fill giant planters, also donated by Eastlands Homes.Lesley Brereton from Eastlands Homes said: " We had a really fantastic day at the centre , everyone made us so welcome. We had such a fabulous time with everyone getting involved and working together. This was our first experience of volunteering together as a team and we had such a great time. We were able to help the Justlife centre as well, who work hard to help the people in our communities."The afternoon was spent decorating. The Justlife staff and volunteer team joined Eastlands in painting the main and meeting rooms in the centre. The fresh lick of paint has really brightened the centre up.We are extremely grateful for all of the hard work that Eastlands put in and hope that the partnership continues to prosper.
