Mike Schofield and Harriet Wintle have faithfully volunteered and worked at Justlife since its beginnings in 2008 and next week will be their last. Mike and Harriet are getting married and moving away to take a year out, working on organic farms in the UK and beyond.They both started volunteering when Justlife was a supper club hosted by a local church and have seen the organisation grow and develop in the past four years. In recent years both Harriet and Mike have taken on roles in a paid capacity. Harriet has provided exquisit meals twice a week for our hot meal drop-ins, as well as running a weekly cooking workshop, and providing support for several clients. Mike has cultivated the land around Justlife, creating allotments and maintaining the grounds. He has also shared his passion for the outdoors with clients through a weekly gardening workshop and by taking people on guided walks and foraging expeditions.Mike and Harriet will be extremely missed at Justlife, not only for their skills, but their dedication and passion for helping others. We wish them the very best with married life and their new ventures on organic farms and hope that they will come back to visit.
