Justlife has teamed up with Debdale Eco Centre, a local project encouraging growing food in the local community, to run weekly gardening workshops at Justlife.Workshop leader Gillian will work with service users over a six week period on the Justlife allotments, teaching them how to grow food. After the six weeks clients should have the skills to maintain the allotments and produce food. This week was the first session and the group battled the rain to clear out the greenhouse – harvesting the last of the tomatoes and a giant marrow. They also worked together to plant onions, lettuce, spinach and Sacadini leaves seedsJustlife service user Gordon said: “I haven’t done gardening for quite a few years now so it was good to get back into it. I will definitely be coming back next week.”
