Alastair Jones, Justlife Chair of Trustees, completed the Edinburgh marathon and is well on the way to raising £1,000 in sponsorship for the charity. Not a seasoned marathon runner, Alastair trained hard and valued the community around him as he ran:
“The Marathon was a great experience and for me was all about relationships - I made a new friend from Blackburn and ran 15 miles with him, I met an old friend and got a lift back to the city with him while catching up and congratulating each other on finishing and I also saw my family who live near Edinburgh. It reminded me how important relationships are in every area of our lives and the help and support that Justlife provides through the charities' relationship with its clients is second to none and really helped me through those difficult last few miles (although it could be said that it was only the last 25miles that were difficult).”30,000 runners were in Edinburgh for the Marathon Festival with about 15,000 running the Edinburgh Marathon on Sunday 22 May.Alastair is still recovering and his bones and muscles are still aching.
