Justlife on the BIG screen

Earlier in the year a group of Justlife service users worked with Acting on Impulse to create a mini-soap. The soap was scripted and acted by the group and filming took place over a number of weeks in and around the Justlife Centre.

Last week the group attended the premiere of the latest Acting on Impulse film ‘Life After Street Life’ at Z-Arts. The event was sold out, with an audience of about 200. The film featured clips from the Justlife soap and everyone was excited to be on the big screen.

The evening included 4 episodes of film to watch, sandwiched between poetry readings, keep fit sessions and interviews; it was a packed evening’s entertainment. It was topped by James Statham’s moving documentary on the making of the film. Everyone involved got a standing ovation at the end.

We are extremely proud of the group and all they have achieved in the making of their mini-soap.

Acting on Impulse is all about giving a voice to homeless and marginalised people through film and theatre. Each and every one gave their complete best.

We will let you know when the soap is available on youtube. Watch this space.
