Justlife Needs Your Vote
Justlife is one of only ten projects to make it through to the semi-finals in the Best Project category of Best Voluntary/Charity Project in The National Lottery Awards. The Awards are an annual search to find the UK’s favourite Lottery-funded projects, and they recognise and celebrate the difference that Lottery-funded projects make to communities across the UK.
Set up by local residents of East Manchester, Justlife helps vulnerable and homeless adults by opening doorways to healthcare, housing and employment. Justlife has a centre based in Openshaw, which has around 100 people regularly accessing services.
The winning project in each category will receive national recognition on a star-studded BBC One TV show in early November and, in addition to the Lottery funding they have already received, will receive a £2,000 cash prize to spend on their project.
Gary Bishop, Justlife Founder and Director, said: “We are delighted to be nominate for this award and I am especially pleased that the amazing team of volunteers and staff who run the centre are receiving the recognition that they deserve. Winning the award would generate opportunities for the Justlife to continue to raise aspirations for people who live in the margins of society by opening doorways to housing, healthcare and employment”
Voting for the finals starts at 9am on Tuesday 26 June and ends at midnight on Sunday 22 July. To register your vote for Justlife call 0844 836 9735 or log on to www.lotterygoodcauses.org.uk/awards and select the ‘voluntary’ category then click on ‘Justlife’.
