April has worked in the voluntary and community sector for more than ten years in a variety of leadership roles, including managing outreach services for young people, ex-offender schemes and large homelessness hostels in London. She was also a CQC Registered Manager of mental health services in Brighton. More recently, as a senior manager, she has overseen the acquisition and development of sites for new housing projects in West Sussex. She is currently studying for a Master’s in Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology whilst directing projects around psychologically and trauma informed practices and employee engagement for a South of England-based Housing Association.
She is passionate about innovative approaches to societal issues and ensuring people’s lived experience influences and designs changes that are needed.
